The health authority highlights the risks associated with mpox infections, calling on the high-risk individuals to get vaccinated.

The Health Bureau Director said the attendance of the public hospital’s emergency department has returned to between 700 and 800 every day, which he considered as relatively low. The flu infection rate has returned to around four percent, while that of Covid-19 has returned to 21 percent from the previous level of over 30 percent.

As respiratory infections are under control, Lo puts the spotlight on mpox. Currently, mpox vaccine is available for residents for free. Non-resident workers, however, will have to pay for the vaccine.
