Health Assistance: Russian Rescue Team provide health assistance in Mandalay

Following the devastating earthquake that caused widespread damages to various infrastructures in Myanmar, the assistance from international community has been pouring in to the country. 

In Mandalay where major damages have been caused by the disaster, the medical personnel from Russian Rescue Team are providing health care services to the quake-hit community.

Based in the Mandalay Thiri Sports Ground, the make-shift hospital was set up with the comprised of operation theatre, X-ray Room, Child Ward and Patient Ward. 

In-charge, Dr. Belinsky Victor, said " Treatment are being providing depending on the needs of patients. Those who need to be monitored will be given treatment for two weeks. We provide health care assistance to about 20 to 30 patients per day."

Rescue and relief operations are being carried out with the collective efforts of local organizations in cooperation with the international rescue teams.

As of April 3rd, relief and rescue measures from around 20 countries have arrived Myanmar, bringing various relief supplies, medicines and medical equipment.

Dmitry, Leader of Russian Fire Brigade, said " We are providing rescue and relief measures to the affected community here in Mandalay. Our team has about 260 members. We delegate the tasks sector wise, assisting in the emergency need in cooperation with the rest of the rescue teams from local and international community. "

Due to devestating earthquake, a total of 3,085 were reported killed with 4,715 injured and 341 remained missing within Nay Pyi Taw Council Area as of 8:00 am on 3rd April.
