Health Assistance: Magway Region dispatched Medical Team

Under the supervision of Magway Region government, the region’s disaster emergency response team was sent to Nay Pyi Taw Council Area on April 4 to provide health care services to quake-affected victims.

Department Head, Dr. Aung Myint Oo, Department of Public Health said "A team consist of 50 members from related township disaster emergency response teams was dispatched to provide necessary health care services, rehabilitation works and disease prevention and control tasks in Nay Pyi Taw. Our team was formed on March 29th after the day of devastating earthquake hit central Myanmar."

Magway Region Department of Public Health sent the team by fulfilling their necessities such as 4 million kyats cash assistance, purified drinking water, medicated mosquito nets, for convenience of the team members during their stay in Nay Pyi Taw and to conduct rehabilitation and relief efforts effectively.

Su Su Htwe, Health Care Officer, Department of Public Health (Pwint Phyu) said "I joined the team to be able to provide health care assistance to those affected victims as much as I can. And, I also want to participate in relief efforts to show my sympathy."

Beside dispatching rescue teams, Magway Region Department of Public Health also donated blood bags to the blood banks of Nay Pyi Taw and Mandalay People’s Hospitals.
