Danish King Frederik X has commenced a visit to Greenland, underscoring the enduring ties between Denmark and its semi-autonomous territory amid heightened U.S. interest in the Arctic region. Accompanied by Greenlandic Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen, the king emphasized his enthusiasm for being on the island but clarified that he was "not on a mission."

Nielsen reassured the public of the Danish royal house's enduring affection for Greenland and noted the king’s general popularity among locals.  The royal itinerary includes meetings with the new Greenlandic government and participation in a traditional local social event known as a "kaffemik."
