Havana trade fair kicks off amid economic crisis

At the inauguration of the Havana International Trade Fair on Monday, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel called for a suspension of international sanctions against Cuba.Díaz-Canel said the US and Cuban governments have held talks regarding migration and are still waiting for the implementation of new US policies towards Cuba vowed previously by the Biden administration.

Nearly 400 companies from 70 countries took part in the fair that will run throughout this week until November 18.This is also the first fair in which small and medium companies took part, which were allowed to start operating in Cuba in 2021.The 2022 fair is mainly focused on promoting trade possibilities for Cubans residing in foreign countries.
