Harvesting model plot: Bago Region CM inspected harvesting and yielding rate

Bago Region Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win and officials visited and encouraged the harvesting model plot of Thai monsoon paddy strain owned by farmer U Aung Win in Kyopin Kauk Township, ThayarwaddyDistrict on October 6.

Farmer U Aung Win, from Kyan Taw Su Village in Lapan Pin Su village tract, had planted the Thai monsoon paddy variety on a 5-acre plot, Field No. 506 and the harvesting of the model plot was carried out in the afternoon, with the assistance of staff from the Township Agricultural Supervision Committee. It was reported that the yield from the Thai monsoon paddy variety was 126.27 baskets per acre.

During the visit to observe the harvesting of the model paddy field, Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win and officials encouraged efforts to further increase the yield per acre, enhance productivity, and promote the cultivation of winter crops such as pulses and oils crops. The Chief Minister also instructed the Township Agricultural Officer and members of the Township Agricultural Supervision Committee to focus on expanding the cultivation of oil crops.
