Harris, Trump shake hands at start of US presidential debate

Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump are facing off in a debate Tuesday at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia. It’s the first debate between the two nominees, and it comes with less than two months to go before Election Day. But it’s actually the second presidential debate of this election cycle.

Tuesday’s debate is being moderated by David Muir and Linsey Davis of ABC News. The rules mirror those used in the Biden-Trump debate. There is no live audience, and the candidates’ microphones will be muted while their rival is speaking. The debate airs on ABC and stream on ABC News Live, Disney+ and Hulu.
