Hanoi launches campaign to reduce air pollution

Hanoi has been experienced air pollution recently. In response, Hanoi and Vingroup launched the "For a Green Capital" campaign on Friday, urging community participation in solutions to reduce pollution. According to a report by the Hanoi Department of Natural Resources and Environment, vehicle emissions contribute up to 70% of the city’s air pollution.

A survey measuring emissions from about 20,000 motorcycles and motorbikes in major cities revealed that pollutant levels increase dramatically in vehicles over five years old with those exceeding 12 years showing the highest levels. In an effort to curb air pollution, Hanoi is encouraging residents to switch to electric vehicles and eco-friendly transportation options.
