






Handover ceremony of humanitarian aid items including food, clothes, consumer goods, tarpaulin and medical supplies for flood affected areas donated from the India Government sent by IL-76 transport aircraft of the Indian Air Force was held on Tuesday evening.
At the ceremony, the Indian Ambassador to Myanmar, H.E Mr. Shri Abhay Thakur handed over the humanitarian aid items and Ministry of State Administration council chairman office No.2. Union Minister U Ko Ko Hlaing received and gave the certificate of honor.
The humanitarian aid items included 1,000 mosquito nets, 3,000 ready-to-eat (MRE) packages, 500 kitchen equipment sets, 1000 solar lamps, 2 Generators, 4000 Hygiene Kits, 15 temporary tents, and over 30 tons of water purification equipment.
The ceremony was attended by Union Minister U Ko Ko Hlaing, Myanmar Red Cross Society, concerned officials and officials from the Indian Embassy in Myanmar.
Similarly, a warship from the Indian Navy carrying food, clothes, medical items, tarpaulin and temporary tents arrived at Thilawa Port in Yangon on the same evening.
In addition, the ASEAN Coordinating Center for Humanitarian Assistance on Disaster Management (AHA Center) provided family items, kitchen appliances, family shelters, tarpaulin, Shelter Repair Kits, water purifiers and other emergency equipment delivered by Myanmar International Airlines (MAI) and Myanmar National Airlines (MNA) arrived at Yangon International Airport and Nay Pyi Taw International Airport respectively.
