





The ceremony of handing over victory flag to the sports contingent represented the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, who will compete in the 5th National Sports Festival scheduled from December 9 to 20, 2024, was held at the meeting hall of the ministry.
The event was attended by Union Minister U Hla Moe, Deputy Minister U Myint Soe, permanent secretaries, directors-general, team coaches, sports team leaders, athletes, and officials concerned. In his opening address, the Union Minister emphasized the importance of rigorous training, high morale, and adopting the motto “Excellence is First” to strive for victory in sports.
He encouraged the athletes to enhance the ministry's honor through their performance and contribute to raise the national prestige at large. Following this, the Deputy Minister elaborated on the preparations and provisions made to support the athletes in achieving success in their respective sports. Subsequently, the Union Minister presented the victory flags to the leaders of the sports teams, who accepted them on behalf of their teams.
The Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development will participate in the 5th National Sports Festival with a contingent of 100 athletes to compete in football, volleyball, Sepak takraw, athletics, and golf. the officials have closely monitored the athletes’ training sessions and addressed their needs to ensure optimal preparation for the competition, it’s learnt.
