Hamas agrees to hostage release in response to Trump's proposal

The Islamic group Hamas said it has agreed to parts of US President Donald Trump's plan to end the Gaza conflict, including the release of all hostages. Hamas released a statement on Friday saying that it had submitted a response to the plan to mediators.

It said Hamas agrees to release all Israeli hostages, both living and dead, to achieve a cessation of hostilities and a complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip. In the statement, Hamas expressed its readiness to immediately enter into negotiations through the mediators to discuss details of the proposal.
