Haitians push through the gates separating their country from neighboring Dominican Republic to access the binational market in Dajabon. "There are fewer buyers, fewer Haitian sellers coming to this commercial exchange," say the Mayor of Dajabon, amid tensions in Haiti.

The country has been in turmoil for years with armed gangs taking over parts of the country and unleashing brutal violence that has left its economy and public health system in tatters.
