Guterres visits peacekeeping forces in Lebanon

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres continued his trip to Lebanon Tuesday by visiting Naqoura, in the south of the country, home to UNIFIL (United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon).

While in Naqoura, he met with the head of the mission, Major General Stefano Del Col. The force has been deployed in southern Lebanon since an Israeli invasion in 1978.  Israeli and Lebanese officials, including Lebanon's powerful militant Hezbollah group have argued for years over the mandate of UNIFIL.
