Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong high-speed railway to open

The high-speed railway linking Hong Kong with the Chinese mainland is going to start operation on Sept. 23. The opening of this line will facilitate the travel between Hong Kong and the mainland. The construction of the railway started in 2010. It is a key part of the national high-speed railway network.

The 26-km Hong Kong section starts from the Hong Kong West Kowloon Station. It will offer direct services to 44 Chinese mainland destinations. The travel time between the Hong Kong West Kowloon Station and the Guangzhou South Railway Station will be 47 minutes, and a trip to Shenzhen will take 14 minutes.
