Graduation ceremony: YNDR held graduation ceremony

The University for the Development of the National Races held the Graduation Ceremony of the 5-year Education Degree Course No (5) and issued the recruitment certificate to the graduates Thursday morning at the Convocation Hall of the University in Sagaing Region.

At the ceremony, Union Minister for Border Affairs Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung said the University for the Development of the National Races (Sagaing) was established to provide the national races with higher education to develop education officers who would involve in the development of human resources and socio-economic development in the border areas. Since the opening of the University, there have been 131 people who completed the master’s degrees in education; 35 graduates of the master of philosophy in education; 4,381 graduates in education; 932 who completed the diploma in teaching; 956 who completed the diploma in secondary teaching; 461 who completed the special primary teacher training course and 7,162 who completed the primary teacher training course; altogether 14,058 young people were graduated.

He urged the graduates to become dutiful and ethical civil servants and become leaders who would promote the socio-economic lives of the people in border areas. Afterwards, Union Minister Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung and the Chief Minister of Sagaing Region U Myat Kyaw awarded the outstanding students, and the Permanent Secretary handed over the recruitment certificates to 205 graduates. After the ceremony, the Union Minister and Chief Minister met with the outstanding prizes winner students, gave words of encouragement, posed for the documentary photo and cordially greeted the parents of the outstanding prize winners.

In the afternoon, the Union Minister met with the rector, pro-rector, professors/heads of department and the rector clarified the data of the university, status of administration and teaching and the agriculture and livestock breeding. Then, the union minister gave necessary instructions, provided cash assistance for the students, inspected construction works, implementation of agriculture and livestock breeding. In the evening, the Union minister hosted a dinner in honour of the graduates at the Convocation Hall.
