Australia federal government is pushing ahead on plans to charge electric vehicle owners for the use of the roads.  Charging ahead on electrification, the government today spruiking a milestone in its home batteries programme.  “50,000 batteries installed since the first of July.”

Elsewhere, the government’s accused of hitting the brakes, confirming that a road user charge for electric vehicles is all but certain. It’s working with the states to design a levy targeting EV drivers who bypass the fuel excise tax.
