Government limits reservoir traffic access

The government is considering limiting the amount of traffic entering the High Island Reservoir area in Hong Kong. Authorities will look into arranging shuttles to carry visitors to the landmark and setting up an appointment system to manage the flow of people.

Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism Rosanna Law stressed the area cannot sustain large amounts of traffic over the long term, and will look into arranging transport between Pak Tam Chung and the reservoir. The move has been made after an average of 3,000 people visited the tourist attraction each day over the course of the Labour Day Golden Week holidays.
