Gold and cash robbers arrested: Robbers of gold and cash captured in Mandalay

On the morning of September 10, 2024, at 8:00 AM, in the Myothit (1) ward of Chanmyathazi Township, Mandalay Region, at the corner of 71st Street and 101(B) Street, the owner of "Chaung Chaung" gold shop, U Shwe Win (aka) U Wan Chaung was attacked by seven unidentified men (under investigation) armed with firearms while loading gold and cash onto a vehicle to transport them to his gold shop.

The assailants, who arrived in a 3J/8313 ADVAN vehicle, stole over 10 visses of gold and approximately 100 million kyats in cash and fled the scene. The Chanmyathazi Township Police Station has initiated a case under Section 395 of the Penal Code (Robbery) and is actively working to apprehend the suspects.

To apprehend the perpetrators of the above-mentioned crime, security personnel obtained relevant documentation through a special investigation team and conducted a thorough investigation within the area. On the evening of September 14, at approximately 9:30 PM, they arrested Khin Maung Soe near Shwe Pyi Thar Hotel on 30th Street in Chanayethazan Township. According to his statements, Naing Min Wei(aka) Kalar (aka) Kyaw Gyi, Kyaw Soe Min Htun (aka) Nyi Nyi Soe, Zin Ko Ko Kyaw (aka) KaYinGyi were arrested at the same day, Aung Zaw Htun (aka) Ange Kaung and HlineHtet Aung (aka) Taw Wet (aka) Wet Ka Lay, on 15th September.

In the ongoing process, the security forces, in cooperation with the citizens who do not condone crime and have sense of obligation, have successfully captured the six suspects, including Khin Maung Soe, with evidence and materials. They are taking effective action according to the law. Additionally, they are continuing efforts to apprehend the remaining fugitive suspect, Chan Tha (aka) Shun Htet Maung who is still at large.
