A Myanmar delegation led by Deputy Minister for Home Affairs Chief of Myanmar Police Force Lt-Gen Ni Lin Aung participated in the Second Global Security Cooperation Conference (2023) (Lianyungang Forum) held at the Jinlin  Haizhou Bayview Conference Centre in Lianyungang, the People’s Republic of China, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The Deputy Minister discussed the commitments made during the talks in the Global Security Initiative (GSI) included principles such as respecting sovereignty, territorial integrity, and non-interference in internal affairs values that have long been upheld in Myanmar’s foreign policy.

He also expressed his support for and welcomed the Global Security Initiative (GSI), as it aligns with the five principles of peaceful coexistence. He described Myanmar collaborates with international organizations to combat the dangers of narcotics.

Precursor chemicals required for narcotics production are imported, not produced within Myanmar. Furthermore, new technologies like Artificial Intelligence and Chat GPT are being employed in online scam centres.

There is a pressing need for close cooperation and comprehensive information sharing among law enforcement organizations, non-governmental organizations dealing with online scams, financial intelligence agencies, and relevant private companies.
