


Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe delivered a speech at the meeting with chargés d’affaires, officers and staff who will serve duties at the Myanmar Embassy, permanent representative offices, and consulates in foreign countries held at Ayeyawaddy Hall of the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on 9th April.
At the meeting, chargés d’affaires, officers and staff who will serve duties at the Myanmar Embassy, permanent representative offices, and consulates clarified about the countries where they served and those where are going to serve.
In his remark, the Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister said that all need to correctly know the own advantage and disadvantage as well as about the countries where they will go and serve duty. It’s needed to keep monitoring the changes in the international arena.
In serving the duty, all are urged to carry out with own consideration to bring the interest of the country and improve relation. A diplomat should enable to speak at least two languages and the language of the country where to go and to serve duty should be studied as much as possible.
The effort is required to improve the Diplomatic Characteristics that should be possessed by a Diplomat. The most important quality of a Diplomat is Loyalty. Apart from them, the diplomats need to pursue the communication skill, language skill and negotiation skill and its crucial to have strategic thinking, courage and confidence.
As the diplomats are those who have to solve the serious problems with the least strength, it cannot be successful without having Courage and Confidence, as the behaviors and manners of the diplomats represent their own country, only then having dignity and integrity and confidence, other diplomats will be able to organize.
The Dos and Don’ts are needed to comply with, although the duty and function are carried out depending on the position, the implementation with collective efforts is needed. It’s to avoid pursuing own interest after spoiling others’ and all urged to have unity among the personnel and mind for health.
