A giant Hannukah menorah was lit in New York City on Sunday night. It was the first night of the Jewish festival of Hannukah.

The menorah is 36 feet tall and stands as a symbol of freedom and hope. Hannukah aims to bring light and goodness into the world. The festival is celebrated by Jewish people the world over and lasts for eight days with a new candle being added to the menorah every night.
