Ghana first African nation to sign security, defence pact with EU

Ghana and the European Union on Tuesday signed a landmark defence agreement aimed at bolstering cooperation on regional security and counterterrorism, making it the first time an African nation has signed such an accord with the bloc. Vice President Jane Naana of Ghana and European Commission Vice-President Kaja Kallas signed the accord in the presence of officials in the capital Accra.
