German team arrives at new Maddie search site in Portugal

A German investigative team joined a new search operation in southern Portugal related to the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, the British toddler who vanished 18 years ago. The search took place near Praia da Luz, where the child disappeared in 2007.

Authorities expected the operation to continue until Friday. The investigation operated under a mandate from the public prosecutor's office in Brunswick, northern Germany. German prosecutors led a preliminary inquiry into Christian Brückner, who was suspected in connection with the case.
