German Minister of Defense visits Lithuania

German Defence Minister Christine Lambrecht on Saturday was welcomed by her Lithuanian counterpart in Vilnius. The German minister went on to Rukla, where NATO troops including a newly arrived German brigade are stationed. Speaking in Rukla, Lambrecht reiterated her country's support for Ukraine.

She said that following a recent meeting with Ukrainian Defence Minister Oleksii Reznikov in Odesa, the first of four air defence systems will be delivered to support Ukraine's military "very quickly." Together with her Lithuanian counterpart Arvydas Anusauskas, she then observed the first joint training exercises with the German brigade at the Gaiziunai training ground.
