German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius welcomed a delivery of P8-A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft on Friday, marking a key milestone in the modernisation of the German naval air fleet. The P8-A Poseidon, based on the Boeing 737, is designed for maritime surveillance, anti-submarine warfare, and reconnaissance missions. The Poseidon arrived from the US via Iceland as the first of eight to be delivered by 2028 at a cost of €3.1 billion.
