Geo-economics in Myanmar: Unlocking opportunities for trade and development

A workshop on “Geo-economics in Myanmar (Unlocking Opportunities)” took place in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday.

The workshop was attended by Union Ministers at the State Administration Council Chairman’s Office (1) and (2) U Ko Ko Hlaing and U Aung Naing Oo, Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn, departmental personnel and experts.

The workshop commenced with screening of video clip on Geopolitics and Geo-economics, followed by an opening remark of Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn. Aiming to raise public awareness on geo-economics, the workshop conducted a panel discussion with the participation of the experts.

It also aimed to provide insights and strategies for harnessing geo-economic opportunities, contributing to Myanmar's economic growth and development. 

William Aung, Freelance Consultant, said " As Myanmar is bordered to developed and populous countries such as China and India and the geography of Myanmar is naturally excellent, it’s important to find out the effective market penetration methods to be able to trade to neighbouring countries without costing much technological costs. By organizing this kinds of workshops inviting experts, we public can get knowledge on geo-economic condition of the country. So, it can narrow down the knowledge gap of the general public."

The workshop was organized by Center for Myanmar Affairs Studies Group of the Information and Public Relations Department under the Ministry of Information.
