


The gender-based violence training (1/2022) was launched for helpline staff at the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement in Nay Pyi Taw on Wednesday.
At the ceremony, Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement DrThetThetKhine said that the gender-based violence especially violence against women can happen anytime and anywhere and it needs to protect simultaneously the outbreak of terrorism.
To complain violence against women, the Ministry is giving 24 hour helpline service and the complaint letters were accepted to solve the problems. Starting from January, arrangements have been made for accepting complaint letters in addition to phone complaints by launching viber and facebook page and the case managers have been trained systematically in Nay Pyi Taw, respective Regions and States to solve the complaints.
There were 1,719 cases complained through Helpline phones opened by the Department of Social Welfare from 29th November 2016 to July 2022 and of them, 1,080 GBV cases and 649 other cases could be solved. 20 trainees are attending 2-day course in Nay Pyi Taw.
