GCC Meeting in Kuwait to strengthen ties

Japanese Foreign Minister Iwaya Takeshi on Monday attended a meeting of Foreign Ministers from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states in Kuwait.

Iwaya and the GCC ministers agreed to deepen cooperation on a range of issues, including negotiations on Iran’s nuclear development program and the situation in the Gaza Strip. The countries confirmed that they will continue negotiations toward an early conclusion of a trade agreement. They also confirmed that they will beef up cooperation in a wide range of fields, including advanced technology and clean energy.
