Israel defended the blockade as a measure to pressure Hamas but local authorities and residents reported a worsening humanitarian situation. With food supplies scarce and prices rising, the residents of Gaza faced dire conditions, relying on alternatives that did not provide the same quality as flour for baking bread. As the crisis deepened, concerns grew about the long-term effects of the ongoing blockade on the population’s well-being.
