Gazan artist’s paintings on aid boxes showcased across Europe

As war rages in Gaza and the population faces severe shortages of basic supplies, artist Ahmed Muhanna began turning discarded World Food Programme (WFP) cardboard boxes into canvases.

Over time, he started using coffee, tea and other everyday materials to draw and paint. The artist said he drew scenes of pain and suffering of the war victims. His artworks are being showcased across Europe. The exhibition now on display in Copenhagen, Denmark, funded by WFP and the European Union.
