A two-month-old infant in Khan Younis, Gaza Strip, is fighting a rare and complex disease amid ongoing war and a crippling siege.

Janna Muteir receives care in a small room at the Nasser Medical Complex, where shortages of food and medicine and the collapse of the health system have worsened conditions for children with rare illnesses. The conflict, now in its second year, has left many young patients vulnerable, highlighting the humanitarian crisis affecting Gaza’s most fragile residents.
