G-7 FMs welcomed for meeting in Karuizawa

Top diplomats from Europe and North America are arriving in the hot spring resort town of Karuizawa, Japan, to discuss the world’s most intractable crises.Japan’s foreign minister Yoshimasa Hayashi greeted counterparts from France, Canada, German, UK, Italy, and EU deputy secretary general before the working dinner in Karuizawa.

Japan is eager to use a smoothly run G-7, which includes a host of gatherings on climate, finance and other issues ahead of a leaders’ meeting next month in Hiroshima.
