Further Cooperation: DPM Union Minister receives UNOCHA Head

Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe received Head of Office of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) in Myanmar Mr. Sajjad Mohammad Sajid at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nay Pyi Taw on 5 September.

United Nations Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator ad interim Mr. Ramanathan Balakrishnan also participated in the meeting.

During the meeting, they discussed on ways and means of further cooperation between the Government of Myanmar and the United Nations and its related agencies, following the visit of Mr. Martin Griffiths, Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, Office of the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in August 2023.

Also present at the meeting were the senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
