Relatives of victims of a deadly landslide that left 43 dead in Venezuela buried some of their loved ones on Wednesday, with many more still missing. Civil Protection authorities had a record of 400 houses which are completely destroyed, and about 800 are damaged by the landslide.

Large amounts of water, mud, debris, rocks, and trees fell on them down the mountain slopes that flank the municipality of 54,000 inhabitants.

Since then, rescuers have searched an extensive area of the mountains with drones and trained dogs looking for more victims. Authorities expect the number of deaths to continue to increase.
