






A ceremony to offer Non-Stale Robe to Maravijaya Buddha Image was held at the Buddha Park in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday.
It was attended by members of the State Administration Council General Nyo Saw, Dr Ba Shwe and U Shwe Kyein and their wives, union level personnel, union ministers, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman, senior military officers from the Commander-in-Chief Office, Nay Pyi Taw Commander, Deputy Ministers and their wives, religious wut association and officials.
The ceremony commenced with three times recitation of Namotasa, followed by reciting of religious verses. The attendees later conveyed 15 non-stale golden lotus robe from Water Fountain Square to Maravijaya Buddha Image Square. After performing the religious rituals, the non-stale robes were offered to the Maravijaya Buddha Image.
The congregation later offered emerald alms bowl, fruits, flowers, water and oil lamps, and shared the merits gained. Myanmar Buddhists use to weave non-stale robes to offer to the Buddha Image during the month of Tazaungdaing.
Weaving of robes begin in the evening of the eve of Full Moon Day and it must be completed before dawn. These non-stale robes are offered to the Buddha Image in the morning of Full Moon Day, dedicating to the Lord Buddha.
