FULFILLING NEEDS: BASIC FOOD STUFFS DONATED TO MONASTERIES AND NUNNERIES

Shwe Than Lwin Media Co., Ltd together with Yangon Regional Government made donations of basic food stuff to the monasteries and nunneries in the West District of Yangon Region on 24th September.

Under the stay at home programme imposed by the Ministry of Health and Sports to curb the spread of the disease in the region, some monks and nuns are facing difficulties for their alms food.
The donation aims at the prevention from the infection of the virus and for the convenience of alms food during COVID-19 period.

Sayadaw, Kyaung Gyi Monastery, Ven. Guna said " There are some difficulties for alms food during Covid-19 period. But today, Skynet family donates dried fish, onion, bean and many more. It will be very supportive for all monks in the monastery as monks cannot go out to collect offerings during this period."

The donation includes rice, cooking oil, vermicelli, drinking water, egg, onion, bean, dried fish and donates to 56 monasteries and nunneries in Yangon West District.

Sayadaw, Salin Monastery, Ven. Kusala said "We made alms foods ourselves during this period as we don’t go out to prevent the disease. But thanks to the today’s donation, we don’t need to worry about alms foods and we can only emphasize to carry out the religious duties."

Sayadaw, Sadhu Pariyatti Monastery, Ven. Tejananda said"We are using monastery fund for the alms foods during Covid-19 period and there are 91 monks in the monastery.
Today, we are very delighted for the donation of Skynet family and we can carry out the religious duties for the Buddha Sasana in peace."

In offering the offertories, donations were conducted in line with the guidelines of the Ministry of Health and Sports.
