




In the first seven months of this year, the export value of fruit and vegetables is expected to surpass last year’s figure of nearly 3.2 billion U.S. dollars, according to the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association.
Among the export items, durian sales increased the most. In the first half of the year, it exported 850 million U.S. dollars, followed by dragon fruit, banana, mango, jackfruit, watermelon, and lychee. China is still the number one import market for Vietnamese fruit and vegetables.
In the first half of the year, the Chinese market accounted for nearly 59% of the market share, followed by the US, South Korea, Japan, and the Netherlands. According to the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association, if the industry maintains its export momentum until the end of the year, the export turnover for the whole year could reach 5 billion USD.
