Friendship in Diversity: 4th Southeast Asia Video Festival for Children

With the theme “Friendship in Diversity”, the 4th Southeast Asia Video Festival for Children (SEAVFC) took place in Kuala Lumpur from November 22nd to 23rd.

Myanmar delegation led by Governing Board member, Director of MITV Daw Ling Maung Pan and party attended the event, together with the representatives from ASEAN member states.

The festival aims for children to share their perspectives and engage in cultural exchange through content creation. Ten categories have been set for the event, and altogether 71 pieces of artworks received from the participants across ASEAN region.

Myanmar also competed in three categories, and among them, Ma Kelly Tin from University of Education Practicing High School (Kamayut) and Ma Lamin Phoo Pyae from Basic Education High School (Dagon) have been selected in the tentative list for their contents in “Unity in Diversity” and “Beautiful Friendship”.

During the prize awarding ceremony, representatives from ASEAN member states entertained the audience with traditional cultural performances. Myanmar contestants also performed the traditional dance along with the song “Mingalabar”.

In the festival, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand won awards in the professional category, while the Philippines grab an award in the Amateur Category. For the children category, Viet Nam and the Philippines received the awards respectively. Thailand will host the festival's fifth edition of the festival next year, with the theme “The Magic of Peace” while Indonesia is scheduled for the 2026 festival.
