Friendly Cooperation: Mon State Chief Minister meets the Indian Ambassador

Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein received the Indian Ambassador to Myanmar Mr. Abhay Thakur, at the State Government office on Sunday morning.

During the meeting, they openly exchanged views on various development activities to be carried out with India's assistance. These activities include availability of irrigated water through solar systems in Mon State, boosting areca nut exports to India, improving water accessibility in water-scarce wards and villages, and providing electrification through solar systems in remote villages.

They also discussed cooperation on technologies for the state's weaving industries, obtaining technology and assistance for the industrial sector, creating more opportunities for the development of the salt and rubber industries, and addressing security issues for Indian workers.

Additionally, they explored ways to provide investment and technology for MSMEs in Mon State to produce import-substitute rubber products and implementing a rubber-based SME technology model currently practiced in India.
