Fresher welcoming ceremony: Shan State Chief Minister attended the ceremony

The welcoming ceremony for the first-year students entering the Universityof Computer Studies(Taunggyi) and the award presenting ceremony for outstanding students from each year was held at the Multi-purpose Hall of the University in Taunggyi Township on January 14.

First, the teachers, students, and staff of the Universityof Computer Studies(Taunggyi) performed songs, including a song of the ministry of Science and Technology and "Mya Kyun Nyo Nyo" song, to entertain the attendees.

Next, the Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung, delivered a welcoming speech, where he emphasized that the computer universities play a crucial role in nurturing and developing the country's most needed human resources. He encouraged continued research work that benefits both the nation and its people, and stressed the importance of ongoing education and learning.

Following this, the Chief Minister, along with state ministers, the State Advocate General, and the secretary of the state government, awarded prizes to outstanding students. The students performed traditional Shan ethnic traditional dances (Toe Nayar) and Pa-O ethnic traditional dances.

Additionally, the Shan State Government donated water purifying machine and sports equipment to the Computer University (Taunggyi), which was accepted by the Pro-Rector of the university. After that, the Chief Minister and party took photos with the award-winning students and staff and cordially greeted them.

Furthermore, the Chief Minister and party visited the office of General Administration Department of the personnel displaced from Shan State (North), Lashio and Kutkai at the offices of Shan State Mother and Child Care Supervision committee and Shan State Women's Affairs committee in Taunggyi.

They inspected the offices and living quarters of the staff families, ensuring that the workrooms and living spaces are well-organized and that the environment remains clean and sanitary. The Chief Minister also coordinated with relevant departments to ensure the supply of necessary drinking water and utilities for the staff families.
