Fresher welcoming ceremony: GTI (Mawlamyine) held the ceremony

On the morning of, 2025, the Government Technical Institute (Mawlamyine) held a fresher welcoming ceremony for the 2024-2025 academic year at the hall of the Institute in Mawlamyine on January 22. The Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein, attended the event and delivered a speech.

In his speech, the Chief Minister mentioned that the establishment of the Government Technical Institute (Mawlamyine) was intended to contribute to the regional development and improve the social and economic life of the people in Mon State by producing highly skilled engineers. He urged the students to strive to acquire technical knowledge and skills that are truly needed in their region and to use them effectively. He also encouraged them to work hard to become knowledgeable and skilled professionals who could contribute to the state's development and become respected individuals.

The principal, Dr. Phyo Wei Lin, then presented information related to the institute. Students from the Government Technical Institute (Mawlamyine) entertained the audience with song performances, dances and traditional ethnic dances.

Later, the Chief Minister honored the students who had performed well by presenting them with cash prizes. He also warmly greeted the students, it’s reported.
