French start-up produces "green hydrogen" at sea

In the western French city of Nantes, the Lhyfe start-up has just produced the world's first "green hydrogen" from the electricity supplied by a floating wind turbine 20 kilometres off the coast of Le Croisic (Loire-Atlantique).

"We're making hydrogen at sea from energy that was produced on the floating wind turbine, a few hundred meters away", explained the CEO of the Open-C Foundation, which manages the experimental site where the wind turbine is installed.
