French right-winger Xavier Bertrand sets sights on presidency

French right-wing politician Xavier Bertrand renewed his ambition for the 2027 presidential race. He met supporters of his Nous France movement in Saint-Quentin, his political base. The meeting coincided with the launch of his new book, Nothing Is Ever Written.

Bertrand said past experience strengthened his resolve to prepare more carefully this time. He criticized new tax proposals, calling them harmful to fiscal fairness.
