French president meets sport people in Benin

French President Emmanuel Macrontook time out from his meetings with Benin's leaders to kick around a football in the capital, Cotonou.

During his visit, Macron also met participants of the Champions programme set up by the non-governmental organisation Plan International France. The project aims to empower girls through football and tries to engage young people in the fight for gender equality.He also met members of the Paris Volunteer 2024 programme, who will spend up to four months volunteering in Paris, followed by up to eight months carrying out a civic service.Some of the 10 men and women chosen will have the chance to work as volunteers at the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris.
