France’s National Assembly has reinstated the suspension of the pension reform within the Social Security budget bill, reversing amendments made by the Senate. The move meets a key condition set by the Socialist group to prevent a no-confidence vote against Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu’s government.

The restored suspension keeps the reform on hold as lawmakers continue broader negotiations on social spending. The government sought to secure support across the chamber to ensure passage of the wider budget package.
