French motorways busy with holidaymakers

Motorways across France were packed on Saturday by people leaving the south of France after their holidays and those on their way to enjoy the Mediterranean beaches. This weekend is one of the busiest times on the roads this summer.

The forecasting organization Bison Futé described it as a 'black day', with extremely difficult conditions for holiday traffic. A peak of 862 kilometers of traffic jams was noted at midday Saturday throughout the territory.
