Miniature lamps encrusted with diamonds and rubies; animals and plants carved out of gold and emerald: Andre Chervin started out as a gem cutter in Paris before moving to New York 70 years ago, where he became a master jeweler and decorative artist, exhibiting his work for the first time at the age of 95.

Carole Chervin, daughter of Andre Chervin said "This collection and the works in it were really the passion projects of my father's life. They were the pieces that he poured his love of his art into, strictly for the love of beauty and art.". New York was particularly attractive to the jewelers and artisans who came from Asia, from Hong Kong, from Vietnam, from China, from South America, all over, to work at Carvin French, Carole Chervin said.
