French Justice Minister inaugurates the new Basse-Terre prison, in Guadeloupe

French Justice Minister Gerald Darmanin inaugurated the new prison in Basse-Terre on Sunday, the prefecture of the Guadeloupe archipelago, which has been under construction for several years.

"There will be a total of 350 additional places here in Guadeloupe in less than two years, two and a half years," said the Minister of Justice, also referring to the construction of the Baie-Mahault prison, which is currently underway.
