French FM meets Lebanese PM as Israel-Hezbollah tensions soar

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot met with Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister NajibMikati amid heightened tensions between Israel and Hezbollah.

Barrot is the first high-level foreign diplomat to visit Lebanon since Israeli air strikes intensified one week ago. He said his government sought "an immediate halt" in the strikes.Najib said up to one million people may have been uprooted, in potentially the "largest displacement movement" in Lebanon's history.
