French astronaut Sophie Adenot’s upcoming launch to the International Space Station is poised to resonate far beyond the space sector, says Claudie Haignere, the first French woman to travel into space.

Speaking at the 'Cite de l’ Espace' in Toulouse just days before Adenot begins her eight‑month mission, Haignere expressed hope that the astronaut will inspire and embolden many girls and young women. She said she has complete confidence in Sophie Adenot’s excellent preparation and her rigor for a truly fine mission.
